Oh I kin sew but it don't look that purty. Kinds like a loop stitch going round and round until you get to the end.

My father is an upholsterer and I grew up sewing. I can mend (see, proper terminology) a bottom, and I can mend a leather holster except I don't have any leather stuff. My father has all that. Hey Alpo, I just wanted to make you all laugh and I am sure you did.

I do find it easier to do the sewing that I need instead of asking her to do it. I made a "fits all" boat cover fit perfectly, shortened a few lab coats for at work, put pleats in pants so they fit me, and I am getting ready to make my own rifle sling.

I was not making fun of what you said. I was just trying to get your goat,,, which I did. Now, get back to sewing your table cloth cover for your upcoming tea party.

AND anyhow...it's food for thought. I've made sure to include a well-stocked sewing kit in my pile of...stuff. Including the ability to mend/repair heavier stuff made of leather, cordura, canvas, etc. Could prove priceless. Add it to the list.

PK supply is very cheap for 550 cord, 1000yd rolls of the suff; don't waste your time with 100' chunks for way too much.

http://www.pksupplycorp.com/

lowyusa is an excellent company too. Lowy and Tennessee webbing are my main suppliers, mostly made in USA materials.

I never needed to learn to sew. I have always had a few rolls of duck tape handy.

I made some shooting sticks with 2 old arrows and paracord, they work great. I'd like to make other things like a sling.

CampingSurvival.com also has some of the best prices on paracord. I bought a 1000' roll of OD green for $38 and change. Couldn't come close to that most places I looked. If anything they are so popular you can run into "out of stock" a lot. But they replenish constantly and you can get on an e-mail list.
