Default You know you love 1911s when...

- You hear "45" you think of a gun and not a record.
- 1911 was a good year even though you were not alive then.
- You clean your pistol more carefully than you clean yourself.
- "Magazines" are no longer just something you read.
- John Browning is your hero.
- 25 yards isn't far away anymore.
- The term "cocked and locked" isn't scary to you.
- Paying 25 cents to pull back your index finger seems perfectly reasonable.
- A 22 caliber hole just looks sad.
- Your thumbs have become really strong (from loading bullets - and who needs a bushing wrench anyway?)
-You trade so many 1911's you get one of your own back!
-when one in the safe just isn't enough...
-When selling your Ruger 3 screw collection to finance more purchases seems reasonable

You know you love 1911s when...

you can't sleep, wander into your office, find yourself opening your safe, and taking out your favorite '45.

You sit at the desk or sometimes just kneel in front of the safe, pop the lid, and carefully remove your treasure.

It's got a thousand rounds through it but still looks NIB. My, it is extra tasty looking, the wood grips complimenting the stainless steel. You insert an EMPTY mag, and rack the slide just to let it stay open for a bit of air..Withdraw the mag, release the slide, and lower the hammer (alright, maybe "dry-fire" it). The boys at Colt did some extra work on that trigger when you complained about the slide stop gouging into the frame. What a sweet trigger!

Another wipe with your Hoppes cloth, and gently back into the case, back onto it's shelf, back behind four 1" bolts which keep it just the way you left it.

A bedtime story by Jim...
