Christmas songs and artists, your most...and least favorites.
Just got Rod Stewart's latest songbook, Christmas songs, very nice! And of course Elvis! Least, I'll have to think about both, but that little drummer boy, never again!

I like the old music.
I do like some of the songs Rod Stewart's re-did. But one of my favorites is Snoopy vs the Red Barron. Mike |

The old stuff. From the fourties, fifties, sixties. What I remember my parents listening to from records before there was FM radio. Yes I remember when FM radio was the new fad! Also the albums by the Mormon Choir (even though I'm Southern Baptist) that is a great choir.

My favorites, we used to get together at the pub way, way back long ago and sing "I'll be home for Christmas....if only in my dreams", and get all choked up about it. (yeah big guys all teary eyed, lol)
Then do "White Christmas", it was neat actually. I also like all Elvis' stuff, he was good among many others. We have a basket of cassettes and CDs of Christmas music. (no Mormon Tabernacle Chior's Drummer Boy allowed!) |

Too many favs to list. I favor those related to Christ's birth: O'Little Town of Bethleham, Silent night...There is a relitively new song called the Mockingbird's Song - I don't know who sings it but it's the best new song in a long time.
Gene Autry, Burl Ives, Elvis, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton...Manheim Steam Roller, Sinatra... Agree that the soul-stylized and anything they scream kinda suck. Really don't like that song about Christmas Shoes or grandma got run over by a reindeer. I am a Christmas baby - born the day after. I guess it's in my blood.

In one basket my wife counted 5 cassettes and 34 CDs, all Christmas.
Elvis, Nat King, Sinatra, old traditional even Kenny Chesney. A lot of music!! Geezzzz all kinds of music I have over 100 8 tracks and working player. Way over 100, maybe 150+ cassettes many I made from vinyl to cassette. Even the old black vinyls somewhere. |

Elvis, Sinatra, Burl Ives, Dean Martin. Any of them transport me back in time playing with my cousins at my Grandparents house on Christmas Eve in the early 70's. Blue Cristmas is the one that always hits me hardest and chokes me up.
