Interesting. I'd have thought the Mayan's would just increase the number of human sacrifices to fix the issue.

I believe the Bible over any ancient pagan writings.
Scripture plainly tells us about several things that must come before this world comes to an end, including the rise of the beast, seven years of tribulation, the Rapture (no, that word is NOT in the Bible, but it merely describes the time where the Bible DOES describe the faithful rising from the earth and joining Jesus Christ in the air), the return of Jesus Christ to fight the battle of Armageddon and a 1000 year period of peace with Him ruling the earth. I have fun poking fun at people who actually buy into this, and inject a little levity into a situation that seriously has some worried -

I don't believe Nostradamus either, nor Jean Dixon. Both are AMAZINGLY accurate only in retrospect; neither has made a prediction for the future that managed to get explained BEFORE the event came to pass. The gift folks like this actually have is the gift of being both prolific and extremely ambiguous; doing a Monday morning quarterback session, it is very easy to take some of their words and make them fit some event that has already come to pass.

The women used to go over the newspaper horrerscope everyday at lunch. They would go around the circle, asking each person what her sign was, then reading the prediction.

They would nod sagely as each one heard her daily destiny.

I suggested they make it interesting by reading out the prediction and see who matched it best, then see if the starsign matched the person.

They didn't take me up on that idea.

The wife is really worried (not) her birthday is the 23rd. Remember the 2000 scare? How many people maxed out there credit cards, thinking they wouldn't have to pay back the money. A lot of folks went bank rupt! If I'm at home on the 22nd I'll be deer hunting, if I'm not at home on that date, I'll probably be in Ft Worth playing with my two grandsons.

Well some of Nostodumbass quatraines suggest the end of the world is still a very long time away. I watched a show last night and they talked to some Mayan elders who just say that it starts over again on 12/22.

I'm still not sure where he came to this conclusion, other then he said it was from watching several shows about the whole thing.

That has happened in the past a few times according to geological records. But it is a slow process that takes a couple hundred thousand years. Not a big deal on the human scale.

Where is the scientific proof that his actually happened or are we listening to someone like al whore and what he is selling.

I am sure it can happen and so what maybe it did happen before. I have also seen a program about this and they said that because our earth has divided into what it now is that a complete reversal is not likely. It may shift it may not. We cant control this. Tell your buddie if this happens on 12/21 that it will not be the pole shift that will destroy us it will be all the morons who will not be able to read the compass anymore cause they didn't pay attention in school and cant add or subtract. You know those who voted or who allegedly voted for obama.
