Default Here it Comes CO.

After first stating that no legislation would have prevented the Colorado Theater Massacre it appears that Governor Hickenlooper has had a change of heart.

Strengthing gun laws? BS: all the people in that theater were following gun laws, concealed carry was prohibited on the premises; see where it got them? The nut-job didn't care..

Some proposals include instituting universal background checks, ensuring all adjudicated mentally ill names appear on the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, empowering mental health therapists to put holds on gun purchases and possession, requiring the confiscation of guns from domestic violence offenders, instituting a waiting period on background checks, releasing mental health records for background checks, and prohibiting the purchase and possession of weapons by violent misdemeanants.
Now I'm for this. I'm not mentally ill, I don't have a record and have no fear of background checks. If this means that I can keep my guns, then bring it on! All of this is already done in California, and in several other states. I think it needs to be done in ALL of them before any more stupid laws are enacted.

Sorry Buffalo; you're living in a BLUE state.. join the club.

So they want to hand this power to "mental health therapists"? Who will be regulated by Obamacare? I don't think so. I seem to recall that certain countries prosecuted people who spoke out against the regime, since they were deemed insane for disagreeing with the govt.

So somebody thinks that passing more stupid laws will prevent another nut-job from commiting murder. Hmmmmm - I'd thought that murder was already against the law... Doesn't seem that murder already being illeagle has prevented murder yet, does it?

Hickenlooper is just another clown liberal Democrat. Knee jerk reactions are about all they are good for. They will get whatever they want passed to 'solve the problem' - until next time, then they will pass even more stupid laws to 'solve the problem'.

Want to decrease the homicide rate? Fry anyone convicted of murder. The namby-pamby liberals and the ACLU have made capital punishment a thing of the past. Some nut case thinks HE is gonna suffer, he will think again before going on a killing spree. But that isn't going to happen.

I thought the Second Amendment was a right, not a privilege for specially qualified people. Nowhere in the Second Amendment do I see anything about background checks or waiting periods. The answer to all this is giving more power to the citizens to defend themselves.

What I was getting at, is the certifiable nut-jobs that the Shrinks are not telling anyone about, like this guy, and others like him that are clearly NOT playing with a full deck. If that type still has access to gun purchases, WE are going to end up paying for it down the road, and the liberals will make sure of it.

All well and good, but do you realize how many "certifiable" nut jobs are roaming the streets? Been to downtown SanFrancisco or any other medium to large city lately? There's 10's of thousands who have never seen a shrink, and never will. And there are many vets who would be excluded from owning a firearm, simply because they have a nightmare occasionally, and have sought help for that. If that's the criteria, then I would not be permitted to own a gun.

There is no solution for this. Certainly not one that relies on the opinion of some "therapist"/pill pusher. And since when are we guilty until proven innocent? What's the next step? Having to be certified (by some liberal pill pusher) as a non-threatening, sane citizen before you can buy a gun or ammo? Obviously, if you want a gun you're a threat, right? Oh, you only want it for hunting? Wait till a shrink who's a member of PETA hears that!

As has been said, it's not the danger you know about that will kill you; It's the one you don't know about.

With the exception of mental health, nearly everything Hicky boy is calling for IS already.
Nothing new, Liberals are pretty much ignorant about gun laws.

Well he was working in a government mind control program and his army psychiatrist along with the prosecutor are trying very hard to withhold his file, which would obviously tell all. Anyone can become a nut job under mind control, I mean come on people this has Sir Han Sir Han written all over it.
