Default How much is my H&R Topper model 158 worth?

Hey guys I have a Harrington & Richardson Topper Model 158 20 gauge single shot shotgun I'm looking to sell. Problem is I don't know what it's worth. The writing on it says AC US Patent 2876576 no serial number. 20 gauge ~P MOD Choke. Walnut stock blued receiver and barrel. 26 inch barrel. I would say it's in good condition I could be wrong. If you happen to know the price could you please list poor/fair/good/excellent prices so I know how to categorize this one.

Thanks for your help a guy at work is offering $90 for it after seeing pics. Should I take it or is it worth more?

Based on the way that stock looks, and the pits on the receiver, I'd say take the ninety and run like a scalded dog.

Will do, but I can't run far I work with him so how much do you think it's worth? I don't want to rip this guy off. And how much are they generally worth in poor/fair/good/excellent conditions?

Thanks I'm looking to sell it today on my lunch break to him.

They migt "should be there" but they're not.

I saw the pix when you put this on the S&W board. But when I click on these I get a photobucket page that says, "Page not found".

The stock looks like it's had bleach slopped all over it. The left side of the receiver, under the water table, appears to have rust pitting. As a general rule, used single barrel shotguns are worth between 75 and a hundred bucks. But the way this looks, I'd put it closer to 60. As I said, if he offered 90, based on those pictures, take it.

H&R makes a good shotgun. Mechanically that might be in great shape. Maybe he wants to camo-paint it, and it doesn't matter what it looks like. But gun values are, largely, based on appearance, more than "does it work".

I don't know why they don't show up here. I went and stole these off the Smith board.

See what I meant about the stock? And it looks, to me, like corrosion pitting around the hinge pin.

I think a value of 60-70 would be very generous and perhaps a tad high.

I have that same single-shot 20 ga. gun (in like-new condtion). It's a good kid's gun - not much sought after by collectors or serious adult hunters.

Mine does not have the recoil pad - I think yours may not be original? Because the gun is so light, recoil is heavy, particularly when using high-brass ammo.
