Default personal give away( LAST CHANCE )

i have been doing this the last several years on another forum, but since i left there i am doing it here.
i used to post a christmas card and have all the members of the forum sign it or say what they wanted to mom. some would post pictures of there family members and some would post a christmas card
i would print it and give to mom. it brought so much joy to her to read the nice things people had to say to her, even though they didn't know her

there is no rules
no restrictions
just reply to this post and your name will be entered in my small give away. it is not much, but it is something anyone can use
i will use a random generator to pick awinner on DEC. 9th

in memory of LEONA BROWN

Mom's are special Hillbilly. She did a good job of being there for you, and you to her.

Wow....how deep !
I looked at Mama Leona's pic for awhile.
It speaks many things, but anyone should
be able to see 'love' in a pure form.
I hardly knew my Mom.
I have used friends Mom's for my own....selfishly.
I am now old. I don't have many regrets in life.
I still have many dreams...I'm not dead.
I have seen many things, and have been blessed
many times over.
Mama Leona's picture is so darling and sweet.....
it makes me want to hug her.....and do the dishes for her!
I would have loved to sit and talk with her.....
my reward no doubt.
Funny...and real....how pictures can speak !
Life is so short....and we are so smart.... to waste the
majority of it on trivial crap that means squat in the end.
Quote:
...and in the end...the love you take...
is equal to the love you make.

Looks like your mom was quite a character and would have been well worth knowing. She did a good job raising you, from what I've seen of you on the forum.

Wow Hillbilly, that really touched me.
Lost my dad two years ago.

It made me think about how we grow up under great parenting.

Obviously, she was a great mother.

10- A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11- Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12- She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13- She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14- She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15- She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16- She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17- She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18- She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19- In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20- She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21- When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22- She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23- Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24- She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25- She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26- She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27- She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28- Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29- “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30- Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31- Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Proverbs 31: 10-31

Merry Christmas MOM! We love you!

Moms are special and should always be held near........

But if you upset them, they might spank you or yank on your ear......

I lost my mom 3 years ago.Christmas will never be the same with out her.
When I moved out on my own I was 17 and every year she would call me and when I picked up the phone she would be singing "Have yourself a very merry Christmas" The last three years I jump when the phone rings on Christmas and when I answer it I almost expect to hear her singing.

for the record....
If Mama Leona was still with us, in the flesh,
I would send her a card myself.
Love you, Mama Leona.........
I know you are still watching us.....
And we are thankful.

Grand looking lady, hillbilly!

Your re-union with her will be joyous, and I hope my mom and I can sit and talk with the two of you - -

Very touching post hillbilly. My grandfathers passing was 19 years ago yesterday. I was too young to really remember his passing but I sure do remember him as a person. Im glad you did something like this to remember the ones we have lost around this time. RIP Gramp and Mrs. Leona. You will always be loved and missed.

May her sole rest in peace. Lost my mother very quickly to lung cancer and miss her dearly. I am glad you were able to do the postings for her and to do this in memory of her. May she still see what a great job she did of raising you and still smile upon you from the pearly gates.

I miss my mom - she passed away when she was only 49 back in 1991. I love you mom and thanks for looking out for my little girl all these years after she was kidnapped. I know you look out for her still.

Merry Christmas and Merry Memories, Mothers create the best of both. Blessing to the Brown family that those memories of Mrs Leona are passed forward for many generations.
