Default The New Pledge .... From A 15 Year Old .

BY A 15 yr. OLD SCHOOL KID
who got an A+ for this entry
(TOTALLY AWESOME)!
Since the Pledge of Allegiance
And The Lord's Prayer IS NOT ALLOWED in Public schools anymore
Because the word 'God' is mentioned
A kid in Arizona wrote the attached NEW School prayer:

"New Pledge of Allegiance"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
If you aren't ashamed to do this, Please pass this on..
Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'
~~~~~~~~~~~AWESOME~~~~~~~~~~

Could religion thrive without the incessant yammering about the fabricated "war on religion," this time in the form of a simplistic, pandering alternate "pledge?"

That was from 2002 and this poem was written in response to that one.

The Separation of Church and State

Now I sit me down in school
Where organized prayer's against the rule

For this great nation, under law
Its founders, a great vision they saw

Though most were Christian, they all knew
The importance of religious freedom too

And so they erected a great wall
To guarantee freedom of thought for all

For the separation of church and state
Is partly what makes this nation great

It's not as if the founders thought
That religion itself should not be taught

And it's not as if they meant to say
That people should not be allowed to pray

But they knew there should be a separate place
Where all could learn without saying grace

That teachers should teach us to read and write
While preachers and parents extol God's might

Some people think kids have gotten worse
Because teachers don't make them say enough verse

What they don't understand is the reason they're bad
Is the lack of discipline from mom and dad

But the puzzling thing is all this fuss
Over something that was taught to each one of us

Perhaps those who don't understand the rule
Should have prayed less and studied more in school

I was just going to post this. The first poem may have been written by a 15 yo student way back when, but this second poem address the actual constitutionality of church/state separation. I am not religious but I don't care if someone wants to f-all with theirs. To me it isn't offensive because that is their right, same as it is all of our rights to believe in whatever we do. To many people get hung up on stuff isn't right, well, I wish people would just stop having an opinion on everything. What John does in Idaho for a religious thing shouldnt matter to the asshats in Wisconsin that bring legions of non-believers to town to protest and say you can't do this. Go back home dick and stay there. That's my opinion. Rant over.

Most of us in Wisconsin want nothing to do with them either, it is a small liberal hate group from Madison home of libertines and liberals and other maggot like creatures.

Very cool

I'm not religious and I even got pissed off when the pledge of allegience got banished or modified at an increasing number of schools and other places.

I said it every morning in school and I don't see why we still shouldn't. (the full version, with God and all, not some hacked, censored version)

The people that can cry over the 'God' part of our pledge can suck it.

There's also a lot of people who scrutinize the pledge for the "...to the flag.." part saying why do we pledge to a flag, some object? My SIL asked this at a family gathering and I answered that it's NOT a pledge to the flag. It's a pledge to what the flag REPRESENTS, our great nation. Look beyond the literal sense, cripes.

Official versions
(changes in bold italics)
1892
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
1892 to 1923
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
1923 to 1924
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
1924 to 1954
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
1954 to Present
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

I was just using Wisconsin as a reference, not that all of you in Wisconsin like them lol. These groups are all over the US. Just like the idiots here in Kansas that like to protest military funerals. We were told to beware earlier in the year because they were going to be in my area to protest a funeral. Had the local high school on an elevated alert for stupid people activity. That is the unfortunate aspect of freedom of speech, to bad it is going so far now that it is limiting those that believe in something.

I wasn't taking it personal, I just happen to know the group and you really don't want to know what I really think about them or what I think should happen to the fly larvae that they are. We call Madison Berkley East because it happens first there and then Berkley copies the liberal silliness.
