Re: Winchester Model 06 .22 pump rifle
I attended an auction in N.central Iowa on Saturday. I was going to post some of the highlights, as far as prices paid, but never got around to it. Then i saw this post and I think I'll just mention them now. To start off, 3yrs ago I sold a Win. 1906 is very similar shape to the O.P.'s rifle, to a Winchester collector and was paid $400 for it. But from what I saw at the auction, it makes me think the older Winchester's may have settled back a bit. There were 4 1906's there, one w/ the octagon barrel, all went for $350-375 and they were in nice shape, a bit nicer then the one pictured. A mod. 61 that was in v. good cond brought $400. There were 3 mod 12's, 12 ga's and not a one broke $300, and they were in good to very good cond. The surprise,(to me) was a Win. 1897 (97) 16 ga. that was in good cond. in my opinion, and it sold for $550, it seems the 16 ga. shotguns are bringing more $$ for some reason. Of course, there was a mod. 42 .410 that was what I would consider fair cond. and it brought $1600, way too much IMO. A mod 12, 20 ga. that was in v.good cond. and it brought $1050. Some other firearms that I will mention...a Marlin 39 A in exc. cond w/ a 2.5x7 Weaver sold for $525, a Ruger Super Blkhawk 44 mag in exc. cond. (new mod.) $550, and another surprise, for me anyway, was a Hi-Point 9mm compact, NIB, $325, which I considered a bit much. 3 Remington 870 WingMasters, all in v.good cond., $350-375, which I thought was kinda low.One AR in 7.62,that had some extra's added, & 3 10rd. mag's, that a guy brought in for consignment, sold for $2250. Estimated crowd was easily 150 +......so goes the auction's....thought you might be interested. Another 'big one' on Feb 16th. ...we will see how the prices go on that one.
