just buy any cheap one you can find ,if you take an extension cord you can solder it to each of the probes ,if the other end is closer it will make contact , i had one with a 50 foot extension cord hooked up to a bar stool ,a friend of mine that always drank himself till he peed sat in it ,then i guess you can image the rest

Whoooo...DOG!!
Thats a heck of an idea!! Can you do something like that without hurtin the poor drunkard? On those cheap stun guns, do they make em as cheap as $20? If i buy one used in a pawn shop, do these things have a good reputation for not breaking down? mike |

They are pretty sturdy ,I have went through two of them ,and believe me they went through several packs of batteries ,a stun gun is a toy ,nothing more ,I proved this several times ,I kinda like’em ,they are like sitting on a thumb tack ,while you know they won’t hurt you the surprise gets you every time ,yes they are uncomfortable to be hit with at first , I used to take a 90,000 volt stun gun lay my arm down and make my fingers dance one by one by moving it across the to of my forearm, I know sounds crazy but you get used to it , only time I didn’t like it was once I let a guy shock me in the chest ,and I felt my heart miss a beat ,scared the sh*t out of me ,won’t do that one again ,but their claim it will put a 300 pound man down ,is pure bull ,it is all in the brain washing ,I’m 260 #’s bring on your best one
Oh! And my buddy ,he’s used to it too ,I once picked him up from behind with a stun gun live in my hand right between the legs ,those where the good ol’days |

If the probes of the stun gun both break the skin, meaning they puncture your outer skin level, then it will work as advertised. The resistance to electricity is very low when under the skin and the full current can enter your body. However, it the probes just lie on the skin then the resistance is very high and will only dissapate on the outer level of skin.

So what you're saying is that if its gonna be used for self defense a guy should attach some kind deal like those corn cob handles to the probes of the stunn gun and go for a real good jab?
Huh, makes sense to me.... mike |

Actually i do remember seeing a stunn gun for LEO demonstrated on tv where they shot a probe that stuck in the skin and gave a shock.....And that volunteer went down bigtime....also said he'd never volunteer again!!
I don't think i'da volunteered the first time... mike |

Doesn't that crackle just give you the heebie-jeebies???
True story... my late aunt down in FL was having problems with some punks. I looked for the biggest stun gun on the market at the time and mailed it to her with some encouragement. She was at a K-mart getting harassed...no one would do anything...young punk doing the bump-n-grind on her from behind...trying to scare her. I dont believe he could have been wearing much of anything heavy at the time...she zapped him on the prong and he commenced to doing the "funky chicken" on the floor of the K-mart. Funny thing was that every time he slowed down, she zapped him again saying "that will teach you to respect your elders." She must have nailed him half a dozen times before the security guards finally went over and stopped it. They escorted the young man out...his friends bailed out as soon as he went down. My aunt didn't have any trouble from that bunch again nor did they frequent that K-mart anymore. Kinda funny...the good ole girl won that one. He was probably lucky...she used to carry a marble rolling pin in her purse but quit it when she got older cause it was too heavy. swede |

Boy do I smell a Texas size bar bet coming on ,the stun guns police use are tazers ,they have little probes that do stick into the skin ,but stick into clothes just as well ,they are now making them with glue instead of probes
The human skin is no way a insulator ,it has no resistance ,believe me when I let someone use a stun gun on me it is not comfortable ,it is mind over matter ,it does take over the direct muscle group ,I have done it in everyway possible ,and until you could smell hair and flesh burning {ok I was drunk that time, got carried away} And those police volunteers they are ready to be shocked and just know its going to put them down ,it’s all in the mind ,it onl takes over direct muscles ,remember the human body muscles are controlled by electrical impulses from the brain ,go ahead sit on a thumb tack ,set one in your chair and attempt to sit on it ,your brain won’t let you unless you can control it ,then sneak one in on someone’s chair ,they spring up like their on fire ,because it is a surprise ,but we all know that little tack doesn’t hurt that much ,or kids today wouldn’t be piercing every part of their body now do stun guns actually work ?no do they scare people ?yes ,so in a sense they can work |

I (current) = E (voltage) divided by R (resistance). As resistance goes down, current goes up. It only takes 0.1 amp to set the heart into fibrulation. It can kill ya! Normal outer skin resistance is 10,000 ohms. If you puncture the skin it is in the neighborhood of 10 ohms. Do the math! Quote:
If the points of the probes penetrate the skin, then the spark occurs UNDER the skin and cannot be seen. If you see the spark, then you have not penetrated the skin! Now, what ya gonna send me since I won! Half a beef would be good as long as it is a Black Angus cow! ![]()

Only way those stungun probes would penetrate skin if you hit it with a sledge hammer ,or sharpened them ,they are about 1/16 of an inch round and blunt , now I am sure if I peeled back my seven layers of skin it would be more effective ,but an electrical shock would be my last worry
As far as the skin being a protector ,the difference could probably be measured but is of no importance the tazer guns have barbed probes but only to stick the wires to the person be on clothes or skin ,this is why they are replacing the with sticky probes instead of barbed ones cotton has no value to speak off either ,leather since it is dry and skin is mostly water can repel the voltage ever get a shock by a sparkplug? Same thing ,that’s where they got the ideal on how to take a 9volt battery and turn it into a 150,000volt stun gun ,same concept as a coil on your car as you know electricity takes the path of least resistance ,this is why they have four probes ,the two in the middle allow an arc {that crackle} ,which is about one inch ,the two probes that stick forward make another path when contact is less than the inside probes ,if it did not have the two in the middle it would burn up internally ,they serve more purpose than just visual , some manufactures have difference rates of the same voltage ,some arc and cycle at faster rates last time I got shocked by one was a month ago my cousin brought one by ,it was a good one ,I let him shock me ,and I grabbed him the arc went through me to through him to the hand that was holding the stungun ,he dropped it reall fast , I laughed my butt off like I stated above I have went through two of them by shocking me and others ,I have no reason to make it up swede was the guy naked ?or did he get it through his clothes? |

If i were to rig up the cannons wiring to the forward probes to go the the internal 1/4" gap in side the cannon, the arc would go to the smaller gap would'nt it?.....leaving the two inward probes on the stunn gun to be the "failsafe" release if something were wrong with the wiring or if something happened to the internal 1/4" set gap inside the spud gun...... Sound correct? mike |

yes it would go to the wires that are the closest
before you would loose the stun gun ,you will hear a sqeal ,a signal that it is not makeing the arc ,it takes awhile before you toast it ,you will be hitting it for less than a second ,i toasted them by constantly using it for minutes at a time |

I have a feeling you wont need as much spark as you think ,those bbq grill ones lack in comparison of the spark
Let us know how it works ,and don’t be afraid to zap yourself to test my claim Rest your arm on a table ,relax ,take stungun place on arm close to elbow where it in the thickest on the top of it ,hit the trigger ,you’ll laugh on how it really is ,you can watch each finger move one at a time ,if it is over 150,000 volts ,it will move your whole hand Did I ever tell you guys about the time I hit the wife with a cattle prod? |

Recoil all the way up to a pistol chambered for .300 win mag does not bother me......but that grill snapper does. I think for 2 reasons... 1. I don't like being ready for a bang, and not getting one 2. I got sick of those damd cannons blowing up next to my face....."before i built a metal sleve" for it...it still bothers me though mike |
