I am a die hard revolver man. However, I bought a ruger mark II 5.5 with a bull barrel and really enjoy hitting everything I shoot at. I passed up a 22-s smith stainless with a bull barrel and target grips for $319.00 NIB and wonder if that was a good deal and if any of you are familiar with a 22-S and would recommend this model.

I remember looking at the "pro hunter" stainless bull barrel with the fiber optic sights. It was $550. I'm not sure about he one you are refering to but i would imagine the stainless finish will jump the price a bit....

The S&W 22S is a better choice than the 22A because it is a steel gun with no aluminum frame, as on the 22A. I have the 22S and my daughter has the 22A and the difference in balance and weight is great (22S better in both regards as too light of a pistol is hard to shoot accurately with it swinging all over the place). The 22S is discontinued according to the S&W website's lack of any reference to it. too bad!
