Default How many of you own a Winchester Model 1885?

Greetings to all,

As many of you may already know, I am a true Single-shot afficionado

What many of you may not know, is that I am currently in the process of writing a new reference book specifically about the Winchester Model 1885 (and its sibling, the Model 87 Winder Musket). What I would like to know, is how many of you folks own one or more Model 1885s? If you own one (or several), I would appreciate hearing from you (please contact me at Win1885@msn.com). I am a member of the Cody Firearms Muesum, and as such, I can (and will) have your Winchester Single-shot researched free of charge if you are interested and willing to share some information about your single-shot(s) with me. I hope to hear from a lot of you fellow gun nuts

Regards,

If one would come along in 25/20SS at a price reflecting a shooter, I'd love to own one. Something like that would make a great varmint gun up here where the population is getting dense.

Sorry Woods... I sold one of my two 25-20 S.S. low-walls last month in Reno (for $2K), and the other one isn't for sale. Finding a decent original 1885 for under $1500 will be very tough, but there were a lot of them made in 25-20 S.S. (the vast majority are low-walls).
