I just use a propane torch. Takes only a few minutes to get the pile started, bottom briquettes first. We live so far from town, the fire department asked us to stop using fluid.

Take that beer can ya just emptied, cut the bottom off about 2" high, fill that with starter fluid, pile the brickets on top and torch it!

Well I never liked the taste of lighter fluid, so I use one of those coffee can looking gadgets with a couple sheets of newspaper. It starts good and gets your charcoal ready quick. I used to use a 2lb coffee can with holes in the bottom, but then I went high-brow.

Wait till the volunteer fire dept, sheriffs dept, constable, and what not all come sceaming down yer driveway cause there was this gigantic explosion and lost of black smoke. I think I used to much Cam2 to light the grill. Cam2 is race gas, 110+ octane.

Keep adding until you have too much. Then you will know how much to use and how much not to use. Don
