Don't know if any of have heard about or seen this yet but Fobus seems to have just put out a cool new paddle holster.
I was visiting the Glades County Sheriff's Department (FL) brass today and they showed me what more and more of their deputies are using. Fobus has created a paddle holster that locks the weapon in place by way of a clamp that affixes itself to the trigger guard once it's in place. There is a thumb release between your hip and the gun that - in one motion - you depress while drawing your weapon. I tries it few times and it worked flawlessly. Most importantly, it felt substantial and felt like a very stable platform. The holster portion has the capability of rotating to the most comfortable postion for the gunner. Clearly the concept isn't original, but I think it is for a plastic molded paddle holster. This department carries nothing but H&K USP Expert in the .45 version (damn they've got good taste)... a pretty large pistol. I think it is really worth a close look.

If you'll do a search, you'll find video of a Fobus holster being stripped from the paddle. It's easy, fast and your gun is gone.
