I'm going to post this in VMBB, also, where I have been keeping a running update on Sean's escapades. I feel it might need a little more exposure, so I'm sticking it here, too.
Jan is a contact of Chief's (rooter) who contacted me as we were getting packages out to Sean for the 81st Brigade, Troop E. Today she sent me this:
Remember that if you want to send books to any of them, all I need is postage money and an address. I have access to about 50,000 to be shipped. If you know their reading preference, let me know and I'll try to include some of their favorites, as well as a variety for them to share. I mailed a box of paperbacks out yesterday that weighed in at 22 pounds, and the cost was just under $10. Trust me that's A LOT of books!!
They can send a check made out to the Postmaster to The Bent Cover Bookstore - 12428 N. 28th Dr. - Phoenix, AZ 85029. If they have a specific military person they want us to ship to, they should include the address. If they just want to help us send books to the troops, they just need to include a note - or make a note on the check - indicating that the money is for "any soldier." They can mark the check Attn: BFS (that's Books for Soldiers) if they like, but whenever we get a check made out to the Postmaster we assume it's for BFS books.
