Yes this is my birthday month, got a 1926 S&W 3rd model in .44 special...plus, a bonus 1917 (I think) six and a half inch barrel .45 Long Colt with a .455 marking on barrel with Canadian proof marks on frame.

Seems more like Christmas now...

I have been looking for more examples of the Spanish made .455 revolvers made for the British in WWI. I have one, but it is a bit rough.

Bob, how hard is it to get .455 brass for reloading? Had some guy tell me it is costly and hard to come by.

Isn't there some way to convert some other .45 caliber brass to this .455 stuff?

Need the cylinder measurements. Other wise, .45 LC brass should be sufficient.

Rick, do you mean you can cut and trim .45 LC back to .455 brass cartridge length.

Well......., looking at my Cartridges of the World, there are only two differences between the .45 LC and the .455 Webley.

Rim diameter
45LC = .512
.455 Webley = .535

and

Case Length
45LC=1.29
.455 = 0.77

OAL
45 LC = 1.60
.455 = 1.23

Bullet Diameter for both is listed .454
Neck Diameter = same at .476
Base Diameter = same at .480

All the rest of the dimensions are the same. Now, if we are talking 455 Enfield (455 colt), then I don't think it will fit. Hope this helps. I'd say it was a go if trimmed to .77. Cut one down and try it. All you're losing is one case. Then you will know for sure.

Book also states that some were modified for 45 ACP and Auto Rim.
