My wife just finished her masters and is looking for a job with the Cooperative Extension service. She's applied to a bunch of them and had a couple of interviews. We're currently out of a house because our contract ran out for the free university housing we were in and they gave it to somebody else. So, we've shacked up with her parents to keep from signing a lease. While this is good economically, it really sucks, for various reasons. I'm hopin she'll get a job in the next couple of weeks. She's about due for the Sebastian county 4-H position interview.

Hang in there, Country. Hopefully, you won't have to live with the in-laws too long. In the meantime, just be thankful they were willing to take you in while you're in this transitional phase.

Just try to remember that we must suffer to build character.
Not all partings are of sarrow, some are trips of pure joy. It helps when you look at your wife try seeing your father-in-law and not visions of the wicked witch. HE WHO KNOWS ALL MARRIED PAINS AND HEARTACHS. SITAA

Two families are NOT supposed to live under one roof for long. I have always been glad to furnish temporary lodging for my kids and their families but the shorter the better. There is only room for one "queen of the house" even if all of the males get along splendidly.

Me and her dad get along fine. We kinda think the same about the females in the house: we're tired of listening to them. I'm not gonna tell my wife and her sister this, but they're just like thier mother; overly critical, nagging, and just plain annoying when they all get together. I've only gotta deal with my wife, cause the other two seem to like me or not care. But when they get together, they start making all thier comments and me and her dad just want out of the room.
Corpis66, in this case, I'M the free babysitter. My sister-in-law is living here too, and she had a baby about 6 months ago, so when I'm not in school, I'm watching her during the day while her mom tries to sleep(she works nights). Over-all, it aint too bad, but ya cant beat havin your own place where you can do what you want. Sleepin in the room right next to your in-laws and not bein able to have a beer every once in a while get old real quick.

I couldn't do it. We just signed a contract to build a new house and it would be better money wise if we did the same thing. But I can't seem to go back "home" and the in-laws is out of the question.
A month or two, the discussion might be opened, but the house won't be ready till about March. NO WAY!

Nole, yeah, I'm at the University of Arkansas(the one with the hogs). I'm actually from Lake Village, which is a lot closer. Do you know Angela Laney? I think she still goes there.
IPT: Not bein able to walk around in my birthday suit is about to kill me. I even gotta put a shirt on to walk 10' to the bathroom!
