Nothing will change, Colt will not make "preban" Ar-15`s again; as seen by "Blue Labels"

No imports will change, because this ban does not effect those.

So ......hince, it will continue to be the PreBan Forum, because lifting of the "Assualt Weapons Ban" means nothing to the educated seller/buyer...in pricing or otherwise.

Oddly enough, one pawn shop currently advertising in GUN LIST added a comment to their ad this week stating that "if the ban sunsets, we have Colts!"

By the way, there will be immediate obvious effects. New production guns will no longer have to pin open their collapsing stocks, magazines will no longer be limited to 10 rounds, you will again be able to buy a threaded muzzle and add a barrel extension or a muzzle brake, there won't be a count on "nasty" features like pistol grips and bayonet lugs.

The magazine thing alone is worth it, because Glock mags (as one example) will once again be made in hi-cap mode (a Glock 17 will actually again have new 17 round mags available at low cost like the LEOs currently pay), and new guns will be sold with hi-caps in the boxes again. The collapsible stock thing is also worthwhile, particularly if you're looking at a civilianized M4 or an Uzi from Vector or any number of other current pinned stock guns. You can buy an original collapsible Uzi or AR stock right now for about $30; you just need a gun to put it on. Guns now sold without muzzle brakes and/or flash suppressors can again be built with them.

Even more importantly, you can be sure a renewal of the law would have swept up as many as possible of the gun variations created since 1994 by companies like Bushmaster and Olympic, and certainly would have added additional restrictions on guns as well, as the current drafts pushed by Feinstein attest. So the AWB sunset would/will be a big step in the right direction, Second Amendment wise.

Interesting but yet incorrect.
1. This is the PRE-Ban forum not the 922 forum (which is the legislation that was the import parts restriction) so things will change.

2. Colt STILL makes "pre ban" style guns, the LE Carbine is one and they have been sending out dealer notices on the changes to them that will take place with the sunset. Option on number of magazines, case options and lower and upper options. All will have all the previous "evil" features and the price will range from $700-$1100.

3. As to price, again incorrect. Ram line magazines for the 10/22 preban..are what like $50-100 depending on whos selling them. Ramline is doing dealer adverts for $11.95 a magazine, MSRP $19.95. Beta C-mags, my cost for LE Only, $210...preban market version $300-500. MSRP post AWB, $279. The general availibility of folding stocks for many rifles again - another change.

So to the educated consumer, yes things will change and change dramatically, prices, availibility, and lo I feel for those fellows that have been hoarding their magazines and "pre ban" guns.

One other thing (which you get at) you will be able to suppress your semi auto "black rifles" again. Threaded barrel, pistol grip, suppressor (which was deemed a flash suppressor) Whoo Hooo! It's going to be fun.

I hardly consider 10/22 magazines or any other magazines as life or death in controlling the market. Show me where we can purchase some $500.00 AUG`s, HK91-93`s SIG`s and the lot. Colt will still retain the block and the fact that they make LEO "preban" means little. They went PC long before the ban and I doubt they will return. Now the others may or may not jump on this band wagon, time will tell. But also remember, States can jump right in and ban any such weapon they so desire. Best relax until the details are clear. It ain`t over till the fat lady sings.

Um I guess you aren't getting the information from Colt but they are already marketing to dealers, the LEO Carbines for civilian sales.

"Place your orders now"
"After the AWB sunsets the LEO Carbine with 16 inch barrel will be legal for civilian sale."
You can pre order through distribution the LEO Carbine, if the AWB sunsets, you can take delivery, if not your order will be canceled.

Now as to the Aug's and such...that has nothing to do with the AWB, it's all 922...now if 922 went away that would be something.
