Yep Carla and I were the first two at the polls in our precinct today we arrived at 0642 and voted at 0703 she was 1st and I was 2nd.
The line was long when we came out but not one person there was wearing any FLIP-FLOPS so that may be a good sign for the north end of our county. BUSH IS MY MAN ![]()

That didn't leave ya much time for eating donuts & drinking your coffee
I had to laugh on the news this morning they were reporting some little town in NH has 39 residents, 33 were registered. They opened at midnight & were done voting by 8 minutes after. Bush won by 1 -- only after a recount & then another double check. The first count had them tied. How in the he** do you screw up counting 33 votes. Gives me alot of faith in the rest of the system. I'll be glad when it's over - sick of all the newscasters polls (guesses) & all the assumptions ! It's gonna be a LONG night I'm afraid . May the best man win ------ Bush ![]()

I got to the polls about 11 am after a veterinary appointment, and I am told I missed the crowd during the morning rush hour -- of course, that was part of my plan.
Three girls outside the front doors were handing out Republican literature, and I've had at least 5 phone calls in the last 24 hours urging me to vote Republican -- including a taped message from Laura Bush and a message from the NRA-ILA supporting the Republican (Indiana) Attorney General. The conservatives are doing a great job touching base with their grass roots. Oh yeah, I also had one group come to my door yesterday, Republicans for the gubernatorial candidate. I had a letter to the editor in the evening paper this week, myself, urging Republicans not to split their ticket, but vote a straight ballot -- we need all the Republicans in Congress that we can get since one vote in the Senate can pass or fail a bill on guns right now.

I meant to go early, but I couldn't resist sitting around most of the morning drinking coffee. When I got to the voting machines, there was only one other person there, although the poll workers claimed it had been very busy ealier. It has been unusually cold (39--cold for here) and even more unusually wet, so that's a good sign people are going to turn out.
In an only half-official poll at my rural precinct, based on the observation that the other person there looked decent enough, I'd say the tally was: Bush 2 Kerry 0

I went down about 10a.m. and had almost a hours wait very large for a small county never in all my years have i had to wait that long to vote. I am bothered by what I saw there 70 to 80% of the people where under the age of 25. We all know who there voting for they believe the lies. And 358 I got you message and don`t laugh I don`t know how to return the message? we will need to talk in the future sometime. and a personal thank you for doing that.

Mrs njretcop and I voted at 7:00am. The polls are open in NJ from 6:00am to 8:00pm.
Our voting district is very small, mostly just neighborhood people. 100 votes cast in the whole day is a lot. We were numbers 51 and 52 in the first hour. Looks like it's gonna be BIG! GO W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

My wife and I voted around 0830 and went for breakfast. No line but we did get more than our usual amount of double takes. We had a fun day.

Our boss at work (who also voted for W), said at her voting place there are 300 possible people and she was #280 at 9AM. Guess everyone at the Jersey Shore was out to vote early.

Hey, Ron. Have you ever, by any slight chance, heard of the ELECTORAL COLLEGE???
Well, SoMo is right!! We didn't vote for Bush. Our choice was for the ELECTORS representing a given party. In Mississippi the ballot shows the vote to be for the individual Representatives to the Electoral College! Actually, in ALL states, pursuant to the Constitution of the United States, we do NOT vote for the candidates themselves, but rather for the persons who will vote in December in the Electoral College session. Most states probably show the Presidential candidates by name, but here it shows a vote cast for the Electoral College representatives. Alabama's ballot used to be the same way back in the sixties, but was changed by an amendment to the State Constitution to allow the Presidential candidates to to be named.

OK Marlin, I play like a DOCB but I am smart enough to know that we don't elect our Pres and VP I should have done a little more thinking before I responded to the post. I am so sorry that you didn't have the pleasure of putting an X by the Bush name Like I did because it dang sure felt good to me
and it was fun also ![]()
