Poppy Krott's Homemade Ice Cream
3 c. milk
1 1/2 c gran sugar
4 TBSP flour
few grains of salt
3 tsp vanilla
3 cups heay cream
In a Dbl Boiler - scald milk. Mix sugar, flour & salt & stir in enough milk to make a paste, then stir that into Dbl boiler. Stir until thick, cook for 10 minutes. Beat eggs slightly and add milk mixture, stir. Then return it to the Dbl boiler & cook 1 minute. Remove from heat & cool. Add vanilla & heavy cream & mix.
Put mixture in ice cream freezer & crank !
Don't forget to add rock salt to the ice on the outside of the conatiner to make it freeze better!
