Default Remington 597 22LR

I was at a gun show Saturday looking for another Remington 597 22LR and was surprised to find out there were only a few there. One guy there selling 1022's said that the 597 never really caught on and were not very good rifles, but I really like mine and find that it is a straight shooter.

Anybody here have any experiences with the 597 pro and con ?

Not on my list of .22s and never will be. Used or otherwise.

You'll find some fans of them. They've got a good barrel, and are accurate. But the feeding problems, and general quality feel is missing.

I've got one, Love the looks and the feel of it....but haven't fired it yet. Should get 10oo rounds through it this weekend. I have read they are quite advanced but like I said i haven't shot it yet. I have shot 10/22's and liked them. I'm sure your gonna run into people who Love them to death and people who wouldn't use on if it was the last gun on earth. Go with what ya like and know.

With the newly designed mags they're great. I love mine. Very accurate.

I tricked mine out with a Jarvis Custom hammer, barrel and stock ... it will out shoot any tricked out 10/22.
When I get the newly designed magazines, any problems I had should be solved.
