Default Boxer, Kerry vote against Rice

Pending approval by the full Senate, Rice would be the first black woman to hold the job. She was confirmed by a 16-2 vote with Democrats John Kerry of Massachusetts and Barbara Boxer of California voting no.

They just don't know when to quit

(just kidding)

This doesn't surprise me, though. Kerry is used to voting "NO" to anything the Republicans offer. Be it legislation or cabinet positions or what have you. He just reaches for the "nay" button. I'll bet he didn't even know what he was voting for. He just knew it was something the Republicans wanted, so he voted no.

There should be no doubt anymore. Condi is best for the job. Boxer and Kerry have always been against what is best for America. Why should this be any different?

Their just making a political statement . There was NO WAY she would get approved unanimously . That would make them look like they were caving to the Republicans .

I sent the following message via e-mail to Lou Dobbs at CNN; the site just responded saying they received it and that they "read every message." I hope they get a charge out of this:

To Lou Dobbs, Wolf Blitzer, Paula Zahn:

The Democrats succeeded in making it seem that there is no good reason to have the committee hearings televised and every reason not to. That would normally be heresy in an open republic, so Boxer, Biden, Kerry, Sarbaines and the rest performed quite a feat to make closing these hearings seem like a really good idea. The American people want their business done, and this circus was an utter waste of time from first minute to last.

All the questions were asked and answered on paper in advance, for which all the committee thanked and complimented Rice, and it was obvious that the only reason the Democrat spoilers showed up (with their visual aids -- did Rice require those posterboards?) was to "act out" for the cameras, with the main sport being to insult Rice to her face.

By the second day the liberals didn't even bother with the pretense of asking Ms. Rice any questions. They just ranted in monologue for their entire allotted time. It was sickening and embarrassing. I was very glad to have the Mute button on my remote, or I would not have been able to watch any portion of it.

It is so blatantly obvious what was going on that the liberals are bound to pay a price for their disgusting disrespect. They were willing to be as rude as they wanted, knowing that if Rice put them soundly in their places, they'd spin it for the media to assert that SHE was trouble.

In reality, Biden acted, as always, like a sadistic 10-year-old (and insanely proud of it by the twisted grin), Boxer was described by one news analyst as acting "flakey," and Kerry was described as "still running for president." Of what, you have to wonder. One of the callers on C-SPAN commented "They LOST; get over it." Precisely, I thought.

The liberal Democrats seem to me to be on a suicide mission to innoculate themselves against ever being in power again. They are the "new dead enders" in our politics.

This is not, by the way, a matter of opinion, but of observation. The "performance," the self-indulgent and cruel theater, was undeniably apparent to millions of the American people in real time. The mystifying part is that these liberal "leaders" are proud of the behavior, no doubt. That defies explanation. They will complete their own national burial by delaying Ms. Rice's confirmation vote in the Senate until next week, it seems. God help the states that elected these fools to office.
