Tac401 Administrator Posts: 758 (5/25/01 9:48:34 pm) Reply | Edit | Del ezSupporter Re: Double Dare, A Parody ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life was great, but its all in the past, We made our kids the adults, and no one whips their ass, It's not Hide n seek, its now A-O-L, Sittin' on the back porch is now boring as hell, The bread and the butter, made way for Big Mac, Paper bags with no candy, only cocaine and crack, Hopscotch and butterscotch are now real Scotch and Gin, He ain't playing jacks, he's out selling again, "Mother, May I" was thrown in the trash, Hula Hoops and Sunflower have made way to hash, It ain't the sprinkler that will get in you messed up, Its then 4 guys with the 9's in back of that truck, Lickn' Salty lips only costs a few bills, The only lightening we see come from these weird lil pills, From corner to corner, we've lined our streets, With underage prostitutes who are working to eat, Bedtime is the nap on the bus between highs, Haven't seen a real tree since 75, A million mosquitoes now carrying HIV, Fingers that are stinky from bloody money, Robbers replace by the Serial killers, Child eating monsters and inhumane blood spillers, Cowboys and Redskins are now both on strike, The won't play again with out another pay hike, Walking down the street, must now be done in twos, Or you'll be another statistic who was killed for their shoes, Runnin from the cops till you were out of breath, Then getting cornered and trading shots to the chest, Handwriting has all but disappeared, No need to write with these nice keyboards here, Sneakers now cost 200 dollars a Set, And you might wind up dead for getting someone else's wet, Kids are now left alone in their house, To wish for someone who cares how late they stay out, A quarter refers to size of a buy, Which they drop in the mud when the police car spies, Girls giving away their virginity, Sometimes before their 13 birthday! Male teachers soliciting both female and male, When you ask for full service, they say "Go to hell!" Laundry Detergent is the new thing to inhale, Persuing a high with a moto "To Dream is to Fail", Parents harm their kids, or don't spank them enough, If you spank them to much your lead away in police cuffs, Failing a grade is like losing a tooth, It hurts but it happens, a GED will do, Kids are so warped they carry a gun, On the school yard, and attempt to shoot everyone, Disapproval from the gang is the biggest threat, Decision aren't made with any intellect, Mistakes are ignored, and perpetrated without care, Guns are the solution to any bad affair, If you have one "real" friend you luckier than many, They're probably with your wife, so you don't really have any, Saturday morning its straight to the booze, 28 New murders in yesterday's news, Can't go to the store, without bringing home beer, Drink so much beer that your life disappears, The worst embarrassment is getting high scores, Its hard to be cool, if you haven't flunked 9th before, And this is the conclusion and so can't you see, We all better off with this new morality, A Parody of a very nice Poem. I remember ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes Dave!,I remember those as well...a much better time in my life. We had a somewhat rough upbringing my 2 brothers and 3 sisters...not much money and a number of other problems that made us one disfunctional mess. One really great thing and it was a simple thing was when my Mom remarried my Step-Dad(Dad to me),and we finally got our first TV...I was almost 9. Well, every Saturday night we would get a bag of "penny candy" and watch TV...man we thought we were livin. The simple things were great to us...penny candy and Sunday afternoon drives. Goodun for me Dave. JD... how sad and true! ...and two hard boiled eggs. oneknight Moderator Posts: 1007 (5/27/01 11:28:21 am) Reply | Edit | Del Re: Yes! Mesen V.I.P. Member Posts: 157 (5/27/01 8:16:54 pm) Reply | Edit | Del Re: Yes! I remember ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I remember all of those things. Wasn't that a sweet life? My 2 boys know if they are bad in school they're in for it! When my oldest got kicked off the bus the principal gave me a break and made it only for one day even though he was supposed to be off for a week. I assured her I would fix the problem. The next day he got up at 6 and after getting ready for school, we set out. We live 6 miles from school and 4 miles of it has very wide shoulders on the road. So with him in the lead I followed in the car with the flashers on and he walked to school(4 miles of it) Needless to say all the horseplay on the bus ended and the youngest is afraid he will be next so he has calmed down too. Got a few "way to go!" from the parents and now all the kids at school are afraid their parents will follow suit. I also had a rough up bringing but I don't see anything wrong in making a child mind. Does them good! My nieces and nephews would rather run around with me than the ones that let them get away with murder you know? Go figure.
