Default Practical Shooting/Action Pistol

Anyone here shoot in the action pistol style of events? I have gotten interested over the past few months. I have been on all the major web sites and have read the rule books. I just wanted to speak with someone who is or has competed. Any help would be appreciated.

I have nnot participated, but my club holds the matches. I have watched them and have some IDPA buddies that shoot them. They tel me it is very challanging and will make you a better shot.

I want to start in the production class. I was wondering what brand of gun most start with.

I started production with a CZ-75. Any 9mm that will hold 10 rounds, and fire the first shot double action will be fine. Glock 17/19s are popular, I have seen S&W, Witnesses, CZ's, Beretta, Springfield, and Ruger.

For the cost, the CZ, and witness are great pistold for the money. Or you can join the bandwagon and buy tupperware.
