I'll be posting a picture of mine in a couple of weeks, as soon as I get one. Looking at Kimber or Taurus. Probably go with the Kimber!

I would defiantly go with the Kimber over a Taurus. I cant say I have shot a Taurus. But I will say that I suck at shooting handguns, cause I don't have much experience at it. And this Kimber I bought, makes me look like a pro all the way out to 30 yards. I was pulling to the left at first, then i lightened up on my grip and put 7 rounds within 3" of each other Last edited by Brandan Gray; 03-26-2009 at 06:14 AM.. |

Well, I went into my local gun shop again today to look at the Kimbers. He still didn't have any in. The owner suggested the Taurus to me and I told him that I was really wanting a Kimber. He told me that if I bought the Taurus and did not like it for any reason that he would give me every cent I paid for it back on a trade in for a Kimber. I figured that I couldn't go wrong on a promise like that so I bought the Taurus PT1911.

I took it out in the back yard and fired a few rounds through it this morning. I am very pleased at just how well it shoots. I hope to make it to the range soon and really put it through a good test.

I'm new to this forum, so I thought I'd post a few pics of my CBOB with some work from Chuck Rogers. Hope you like the BOB at both ends.

Does anyone else get that same feeling you're looking at porn?
At some of the angles these pictures were taken, you can tell that they love them. |

Not a very good pic, but you get the point. Top is an AO frame and slide, everything else has been upgraded. Bottom is a Colt Combat Commander (9mm).

Do you have the match barrel? How did it shoot once you got it broke in? Does yours have the match barrel? How much did it run you to customize yours like that? Is that the full size or the midsize? mike gn

I posted this on another thread, but I'm still kinda proud of it.
This used to be my CCW. Bought it NIB in 1977. A Colt Gold Cup Series 70 NM re-barreled in SSK .41 Avenger. I started scratching on it April '08. Finished it January '09.(About 800 hours) 10 different colors on the inlays. Custom made legal ivory grips. |

Here is a pic of my Kiimber Custom II. It has been sent to Wilson Combat on several occasions for tuning and an ARMOR-TUFF finish.
