Interesting to note that. I've only used CCI and now Winchester primers in my Lee Progressive press. Lee's instructions warns you to not use Federal primers in their presses. Now I know why.

Well, several questions here.

1) Are the primer pockets swaged since it is military brass?

2) What load are you using?

3) WHY magnum primers in such a small case?

Magnum primers raises pressures in a small case. This can lead to problems.

I have never had a problem with Federal primers in GI 5.56mm brass as long as the primer pocket is properly swaged!
