Looks like a Derringer to me! Did I miss that one. I looked at the 22 oz weight and misread .22 calibre.

I had one in a .38 which was wicked. Mine had about a 50# trigger pull!

I wouldn't even try one in .45 or .410 after my experience with the .38.....

Fired one once. Dang near ripped my palm off. Those things cause permanent flinch! Not for me. Try a snake charmer in 410 caliber.

Once was enough for me, too, Racer!!!!!!

Our gunsmith thought it'd be just right for my wife to carry at a time we had a very volitile case going and had been threatened and routinely shot at when at home.

She never fired it and we took it back. She couldn't even fire it dry because of that 50# trigger pull. After that experience, she carried the Baby Browning for months.

Dern, Rosie, and sorry to hear it. CTS is nothing to laugh at and all the more reason why you sure don't want to shoot that little monster, either.

oh yeah! for sure! LOL! fortunately i have escaped so far w/o surgery marlin. i have to get my brace out sometimes & wear it at night (i can never wear it during the day, life is just too busy ). i've been dealing w/ this since i was 15 tho.

i cant think of anything specific that has caused this little "flare-up", so i'm blaming it on this "little" gun.

How can this even be legal in the "shotgun" mode?

If that's an American Derringer, from Waco, Tx, you have a real tempest in a teacup; Ms Liz Saunders is a great lady, delivering a quality product!
If you can buy it for less than $300, it's a gift.
Buy it, try it, call me if you don't like it, and I'll give you your money back- I'd LOVE to have another one!

Please 'scuse my previous post; missed the link.
Can't speak to the Bond Arms issue; I WOULD buy another American Derringer gun in the same caliber, and gladly!

Years ago a buddy of mine bought one of those...took it to the range the first time...I was standing about 10' behind him when he fired it...caught it as it sailed through the air over his head. As far as I know, he still has it and 49 rounds of 45 Long Colt ammo.

Not for the faint of heart and I would shoot it ONLY IF IT WAS THE ONLY THING I HAD!!!!!!

I had a Derringer in a .35 or .32(can't remember) I was storing it for family in my safe, Just looking at it and then my Banana hands and thought Heck No. My Smith 442 would disapear in my plam so I would surely not beable to manage that little bugger.

Ditto Terry, I had an American Derringer M1 in 45ACP. Quite a handful, but was a great pocket gun and matched ammo for the 1911 I also carried. Well crafted gun. Don't really need one now with the Ti Smith. But, there is something to be said for the intimidation factor.

I normally carry a S&W 637 2" snubby 38 special. Great carry gun. I just got a Snake Slayer as my BUG. Love this little thing and it packs one big punch with 410 ga self defense shot ammo.

OUCH! Just OUCH! Those .410 derringers are loud and have plenty of recoil. Not for me - a .410 T/C Contender is another animal altogether.

I owned one of those in 45LC/410 and the trigger suuuuuccckkkks and it's not accurate so I used it for trade for a new Taurus Night Judge. Better accuracy and three more rounds to boot.

If you want snake loads then 38 shot loads work well and you have a carry piece or revolver that you can enjoy shooting.

My Cobra .38 Derringer had a pretty strong kick to it. Try that in 410/45 Colt? I don't think so. A Snake Charmer in 410 is a much better bet.

I got a .45LC Derringer once for Cowbooy Shoots... better hold her tight...

I got rid of it before I shot the ends off some of my fingers...

If you want a snake slayer, any .22 lr loaded with rat shot does an adequate job. If you want a handgun capable of firing .410 shells, then "The Judge" seems to be the obvious choice. The Judge gives you 6 shots instead of just two.

I had a Bond Arms Texas Defender in .45Colt/.410, for a few years. They are not like any other derringer. The lock-up is different. They have a rebounding hammer, so they are safer. It had a trigger guard so it was easier to hold onto.
The trigger itself is a lot easier to pull than any other derringer, due to the lock work. I will buy another one of these days. My DearSon talked me out of it. I've missed it ever since. He offered me good money. But I made an OOPS!
I liked mine.

I carried it in my back pocket when I was playing bass guitar , in bars, years ago.
Yeah, they kick a little. No problem. They weigh about 21 oz. IIRC, 'bout the same weight as some j-frame .357's.
