Donny, and Darla, CONGRATULATIONS.
With Mattison coming in at 9#, 13 oz, Darla likely actually LOST weight, during the pregnancy, when all is counted!
A comment or two about the accomplishment oughta get you a 'kitchen pass', whenever you need one!

She's a beauty, alright!... But then, she'd have to be with two such good looking parents!

Now we need to find out whether she has her days and nights mixed up.

You'll soon learn the "parent sway", where you sway your body back and forth while holding her to help keep her calm. Took me two years to break that habit!

Yes of course she was born with her days and nights mixed up, but I'll take that, no problem since she was born healthy...That "sway" does seem comforting to her, but I thought it was something I was developing because I was falling asleep myself!

Crp, we see so much in the same way, it seems almost wasteful for me to write.
Still, consider this.
I accepted mortality, a long time ago, and live every day of my life like it was the last.
You have been blessed with the most wonderful gift God can give; be good to her, spoil her if you must, but give to her all the knowledge and wisdom you possess, as rapidly as she can absorb it. Teach her of the things you hold dear, and precious; show her those things you consider wonderous, that she may share your values.
Kids grow up all too fast, today, and they need values, to do it safely.
It seems only last week that I rode across Los Angeles, to meet my wife at the hospital, for the birth of my youngest daughter. She wiill be 30, 13 Feb, '06.
Enjoy the new experiences, and tell the little one how much you love her, every day.

Stash is right. My daughter is 18, a senior in high school, making plans for college, and I'm sitting here thinking "what happened?" It was just yesterday that she was a tiny baby.

Make your little one a top priority. There will only be one "first step", one "first day of school", one "first date"... make sure you are there for those milestone events. Spend time with her one-on-one. Create memories that you can look back on when she's grown and on her own.

Crp, congrats. You have a beautiful little girl there. Here's my take on fatherhood. Its the most fulfilling thing you'll ever do. Everything you theach her, she watches you, you are always teaching her.

Its a little rough at first. She depends on you for everything. As she gets a little older she can do things for herself, and it gets a little easier. (you have to really watch them though.) And she gets even older and wants to do everything for herself and it starts getting harder again.

You have been blessed Crep. I know by reading what you have written here you are a good person and will be a good father. Teach her what you can and let her have her own opinions. I have learned as much from my kids as I have taught.

Adding to Stash's and SoMo's comments, they're here; they're. When one looks back it seems but the fleeting time of a wink of the eye. Value every minute. There are so many "firsts" that it would take too much room on the broadband width to list them. Every day is a first for just about everything. For others start with First sit up alone, then first tooth, with all the many firsts in between; first word, first sentence, first fall off the couchand on and on. Later first shot from a .22, then a hand gun, then first hunt and so it goes. Again all in wink of an eye.

I have raised five of my own and really looked forward to having another aat home when SoMo and I married. Now she's in the latter part of her Senior year and will soon be gone. It is always gratifying to see them stand on their own, even with the ups and downs of learning life. Still, it creates memories along with the pride and joy of seeing your many years of tender, loving care now at work, even along with the mistakes.

Live each day as though it were your last and bring the Good Lord along for the ride and all will turn out better than you could ever imagine.

Love the bow and she certainly is a little beauty.....

Give her lots of HUGs and APPLAUSES along the way with ROSES so she'll know for sure where her bread is really buttered, Dad.
