I came into possession of my grandfather's first rifle, a Winchester rifle. It appears to be in good condition. The wood has several scratches, but the barrel seems to be fine. The engravings on the barrel are as follows:
MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTIER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN PATENTED 29 1899 MODEL 59 - 22 SHORT LONG AND LONG RIFLE WINCHESTER TRADEMARK I was wondering how old and how much this could be worth.

Hi sdsweetheart......welcome to TFF!
The Winchester Model 59 was a simple, single shot, bolt-action .22....basically a Model 58 with a pistol grip and longer barrel. BUT.....it has more than the usual value for such type of rifles since only about 9,200 were made between 1930 to 1931. Blue Book Value: 80% - $300 70% - $250 60% - $200 |
