Not beat to death, but used is vague at best. Please list a % of blue and the same of the wood condition. Vent rib barrel?? Type of wood??? Barrel lengths??? A few pictures would go a long way. Box too.

Ok, this won`t be easy and I could be off. First, the original box (Browning) may be worth more than the gun itself. The fact the stock has been cut, greatly reduces the original value (unless done by factory[special order]) The wood appears to be different from stock to forearm, based on color. Browning used the same color(both dark or both light) One or the other may have been replaced at some time. The gun itself, in the condition seen could range from 375-450. Barrels 75-150, the case itself with 1940`s proof and paperwork may be worth more than the gun itself. It does add some extra value as a original cased set. How much, I can`t guess.
Normally when a cased set like this is found, it is unaltered and somewhat minty.

Maybe Xracer can add something else.

If the case was made by Browning it should have a brass plate on the top with the Browning name. In any event, it appears to be a fairly newish case made long after the gun itself, so I would assign a value to the case of $125 to $150.

Given those facts, I would estimate the complete set is worth 1200-1400, with the high end being just that. I have seen some 50`s and 60`s sets in 12ga and 16ga at about 80-85% bringing about that. Yours because of the original paperwork could add a small premium. Nice just the same. Always nice to see old cased sets no matter the condition. Thanks for sharing.
