Ok, I dont know beans about swords, Im a gun collector. I recently was given a sword that was in a fire. No history available. I can find absolutely no markings on it except where it looks like someone scribed their DL # at the hilt of the blade and also on the scabbard. The blade looks to be plated as it is dammaged where the fire was hottest. I can supply pics if anyone out there can help me.

I am a ameture bladesmith:IE; forge my own swords/knives may I have a look? I have several catalogs of blanks i can compare it to.
