Default Adding Metal

Looking for advice on adding metal to various used internal parts on curios.

When all else fails build a new part but in the interim, I've always used silver or bronze brazing for small amounts of buildup on sears and hammers. Easy to work and to acquire plus it keeps the temperatures down on questionable metallurgy. I've seen some demos on powder coating and flame spraying that look good but involve quite an investment to do correctly. I've also seen some new low amp welding techniques for hard facing.

Has anyone experience with these technologies?

Thanks!
