This stuff? I don't know. I can't see an American company making Berdan ammo, and I sure can't see a company in the business of selling RELOADING COMPONENTS AND EQUIPMENT selling non-reloadable stuff with their name on it. But if you have the dies, why not just use 30/06 brass? Trim it to length, and then run it into a FL sizing die, and wallah, you got 7.7 Jap brass.

yep.. that's the stuff.
guess I could cut up some 3006, but i was trying to avoid it. 1, took me forever to get a working stash of 3006 brass stockpiled.. It's the most common caliber I shoot, and what I'm teaching my buddies younun to shoot. 2, i have that fear that after converted to 77jap that it may accidentally get mixed back into my 3006 brass since it will have a 3006 headstamp. i'd catch it at the press.. but.. etc... ![]() |

I understand that. I've got, stuck back somewhere, a 308 file/trim die and probably 500 rounds of 308 I made out of 30/06. I found 06 brass all the time, and since I didn't have one, that made much sense.
Then I bought an 06, and decided not to use that any more. BUT - there are several calibers using that case. I make my 7x57 brass from 270, and my 9.3x57 from 25/06. Ain't no way I'm gonna have one of them, and the brass is easier to come by than those other two. If you don't have a 270 (to worry about brass getting mixed up) that would probably be a good choice. Might even could make it out of 8x57. That's only a millimeter shorter (.004), and after a couple of firings it would have grown.
