.444 in T/C Contender
My dad has an '80s Contender in .44 mag he had rechambered to .444 Marlin. Shoots great. Heckuva hunting gun. My buddy found an older Contender and was curious if it will handle the .444. My dad and I thought since they were also chambered for the 45/70 then the .444 wouldn't be an issue. Does anyone know if the older Contenders would not handle the .444 pressures? If not, how do you tell an older Contender from the newer ones?
