Is this the magazine you bought?

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MAG280-1608-1310.html

The feed lips are all screwed up. Change the follower to a rounded one. If you want 15 rounds, buy a Glosh or a Beretta!

yup sure is . cant get the damn thing to work . the only reason i bought the mag was because i wanted to be able to plink with it . not for protection. i only need one round for that. i am a hell of a shot with my 45.

In my OHO I have never met a extended 15 round 1911 type mag that worked the way it was supposted to. They all jammed, there may be some good ones out there, I just haven't met them.

Put it side by side with a good magazine. Think you'll see that the magazine catch is cut wrong (low).

Thanks.

I'd prefer a steel or alloy frame such as a Para Hi-Cap model, but my experience with Para-Ordnance hasn't been great. Perhaps Kimber will make one eventually, or I'll pick up a hi-cap Springfield.

I will say that the polymer frame has held up very well. I've only put a couple thousand rounds through it, but no hiccups so far. Magazines are a bit pricey though.

Kentucky I had a Kimber Ultra Ten II and it was a jam-o-matic, never did get it to run right. Paid $800 for a 10+1 45ACP that wouldn't run a full 10rd mag with out FTF atleast 4 out of 10. So I traded it for a mini14 ranch and $100 and then I bought a RIA 45 full size and haven't had a single problem with it no matter what I put thru it. Some times you get a good gun and sometimes you don't no mater what the cost.

Don't feel bad......in more than 50 years of shooting 1911's, I've never seen a single-stack 1911 mag of more than 8 rounds that fed reliably (and relatively few of the 8-rounders that work all that well).

Cpt, the best advise I can give is buy a few 8 round Wilson Combat mags and practice your mag changes. Practice = speed. Lots of fun at the range.

JMHO.

Was Kimber not able to fix it?

As far as 8 round mags, buy a wilson combat and that will solve all your mag problems.
