Actually, this is what was under all the dirt and grease.

Mineral spirits, and rag, and a light touch with some 0000 steel wool, and VOILA!

i have a bunch of those but i have never bought one with the cleaning rod in it where did you get that i just recently bought a m44 nagant in arsenel recondition but it didnt come with a cleaning rod you gun looks very nice and what model was it?

sorry had to look back ive never heard of a m27wish i had one or ten of them i have a m44 and m91/30 very nice guns i really favor my 1938 turkish mauser and my 1955 #2a isophore #1mkIII the besti wish i had a digital camera so i could show off my little ones too

Here's an auction for an M28. This is the Civil Guard model
of the rifle above (M27). It's a little rarer than an M27.
Only about 16,000 of the total production of 33,000 survived
to the 1951 inventory. The Finns counted 26,000 M27's
at the 1951 inventory. They are both very fine rifles.

As usual, the seller's opening price is about the as high as you should pay for one. Anything higher is just "bonus money" for the seller.

Absolutely nice! You did a great job of cleaning it up. I have an M28 with the SIG barrel. These are some great shooters. Thank you for posting the fine rifle.
