July 10th last year was one of the worst days of my life and I've had a few. Our business on the Florida Gulf coast was wiped out due to the storm surge from Hurricane Dennis. I lost all I had worked for and saved most of my adult life. No help from FEMA or the SBA, no credit card, etc. No big deal because alot of folks were worse off than my family and needed help badly. A business can be replaced in time.
I've been in a rotten mood for the last year and it hasn't been too hard to push the wrong button.
One year later, I'm being rescued from a job that I hate. I've become a partner in a new business (trucking company). Wednesday of this week, all was well. Until today.
I go to work this morning at the job I hate and get a phone call from my NEW client. The 1st load was late . Of course, I blew my stack. I called my customer and he is OK with it,but I'm not. BAD day today.
Until I got home.
My next door neighbor was washing my pickup. Something I haven't had time to do in a while. No one asked him to do it. He just did out of the goodness of his heart. Reminds me of me before last year.
It's been said, with truth, that when God shuts a door He always opens a window. Sounds to me like He opened one for you, Shooter. It seems it is always the "bad 'uns" we hear about. Yet there are far more good and decent people in the world than the other kind. Best of luck in your new endeavor! But try not to put the pedal to the metal TOO often; those state patrolmen sometimes don't have a good sense of humor.
Well shooter there are lots of folks that have been praying for you and we have missed you around here too!
It is good to hear some positive news form your side. It is never easy to start over but it can be done. Like others we are here for you .

Any question about where I stand?
My wife and I live in Tucker (East side of Atlanta, near I-285 and US78/Stone Mountain Freeway) and she's been hunting since January. She's just now finding regular "temp" work with an accounting temp agency. She's not even an accountant, she's an office manager/executive assistant by training and experience.
BTW: Want to try to get together a Georgia TFF weekend at Charlie Elliot WMA's firing range? [grin]
All of God's best to you and yours Shooter. It's really nice when God drops that angel in disguise now and then. I was thinking when that big space appeared in your note that the good deed of the car wash was going to be marred by scratches in the paint(!) but no!, PTL! The walk is a daily thing, keep running for that prize that lays ahead, just beyond our view.
