Default music

I am sitting here browsing the gun auctions for a new rifle and downloading/listening to some tunes. Give me some ideas of great classic rock to download.

Thanks, I have most of them on the computer already, I am going to go hunt up some Pink Floyd.

AC/DC is like Garth Brooks and Metallica none of these guys will sell their songs on itunes or other download places.

What Lead said....

...but throw in some NRPS, OLD ZZTop, and the Outlaws too....

And when in DOUBT, stack it heavily with BLUES and Harp..."Filmore East" is the way to START and END.....with "Chicken Train" somewhere in the middle....

And lead, mebbe you can help me....WHERE can I find some Winter Brother's Band music? (NOT "Johnny and Edgar," either....)

I've had "Shotgun Rider" floating in my brain since I saw them in concert in college, that was GREAT Southern Rock, but I haven't heard it SINCE...

BTO sings a song called Shotgun Rider. I don't know if it is the one you are looking for.

Shotgun Boogie by Tennessee Ernie Ford is pretty entertaining.

WOW, that's them, THANKS.

I wonder if I can download 'Shotgun Rider" from somewhere to see if the lyrics I've sung in the shower for the past 20+ years are correct...

I DO know that my encores of "Panama Red," "Glendale Train," and "I Heard You been Layin' My Old Lady" by NRPS are PERFECT.....

Here are 2 different versions

Bachman-turner Overdrive - Shotgun Rider Lyrics

There was a man who owned a part of town
Approached me in his saloon and asked me to sit down

Was I unemployed or would I like a job
He said he owned the stageline and there were men who liked to rob

He offered me his daughter's hand, an advance of salary
A fancy gun, a pair of boots, and a share in the company

Now I ride shotgun on his stageline
I ride shotgun on his life
I ride shotgun on his money
I ride shotgun on his wife
Shotgun rider, shotgun rider, shotgun

There were outlaws who waited on the trail
For the stagecoach daily run with payrolls and the mail

They spied our dust, and saddled up to ride
They saw the worried driver with me sittin' at his side

So they circled 'round the stagecoach it was their daily fun
Until they saw the driver smile and spied my trusty gun

We caught the outlaws and took them back to jail
Sent for the county marshal and would not post a bail

Sent 'em up the river. That sure cleaned up the town
I was elected sheriff. The mayor asked me down

I now own half the stageline and half the rest of town
I go to chuch on Sunday. I think I've settled down

Marty Robbins Shotgun Rider Lyrics

Well I been a-ridin' shotgun on the Houston-Dallas stage
I got me a sawed-off hogleg, twenty is the number guage
I'd shoot anybody that would try to stop this ride
A lot of outlaws tried it, a lot of outlaws died

Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider

I was sheriff down in Austin a long, long time ago
A hangin' judge was a-my best friend and he never let a poor soul go
I left that town for a better job a-ridin' on this stage
Shootin' outlaws with this gun is how I won my fame

Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider

You can ask anybody north of the Rio Grande
If they don't want no trouble, don't truck with the shotgun man
'Cause I got an itchy finger and I got an eagle's eye
I can spot a desperado with trail dust in my eyes

Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider

Well I been a-ridin' shotgun on the Houston-Dallas stage
I got me a sawed-off hogleg, twenty is the number guage
I'd shoot anybody that would try to stop this ride
A lot of outlaws tried it, a lot of outlaws died

Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider, Shotgun rider

Been Googling the Winters Brothers and Shotgun Rider ... apparently, the Winters Brothers' dad was yodeler Don Winters, who worked with Marty Robbins. Marty recorded several of the Winters Brothers' songs, including Shotgun Rider. Here are the lyrics as Marty sang them:

And just so that we don't completely hijack this thread --

How about some Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steppenwolf, or Jefferson Airplane/Starship?

You're absolutely right, Pistol. Jim Morrison was always my idol and doing the things he did led to my brain rot as well.
