This is my first post.
I have a Stevens Savage Model 770 20 Ga Pump shotgun (VGC) that I received as a Christmas gift 50 years ago. Model 770 is stamped on the barrel. When I attempt to find information about this model I find no valid information. Perhaps this shotgun is referred to as something else. I searched this forum before posting and found no info. The kind of information I am looking for is : 1. Model history. 2. Model current value. Any info would be very much appreciated.

Hi stugacz.....welcome to TFF.
I don't find either a Savage or a Stevens Model 770 listed anywhere. There was a Stevens Model 77 pump made.....is this what you have? http://loudfrog.com/itemdetail.aspx?detailID=94235 (click on picture to enlarge it) |

Bingo!
That sure looks like it! And the date of the advertisement corresponds with the approximate time it came into my possession. While the number on my barrel clearly shows 770 there may be a dot between the 2nd 7 and the zero. I will give it a closer inspection when I get home. That just has to be it. I will look for more information on the model 77. Thanks bunches for the research!!!!! I owe you. |

Okay, mystery over. Thanks to Xracer.
The shotgun is a Stevens Savage Model 77C. The C looked like a zero. However, in good light, and after cleaning my glasses it became apparent. It was a mistake on my part due to old age....mine and the shotgun in question. Now all that remains is to research the gun's value. |

Are you considering selling it. I would consider buying it for my favorite nephew.
Thanks |
