Default Got another Kimber......

I picked up another Kimber 1911 this weekend, got the Custom II. Now my Limited Edition Target Match has a brother to keep it company.....

Now I'll use the Target Match exclusively for Bullseye matches, and use the Custom II for steel plate, and bowlin pin shoots, plus general range plinking and home security.

Took it out for it's shake down cruise this past Sunday, and I couldn't be more pleased with how it performed. I shot close to 400 rounds of various ammo through it, and it never failed to feed, fire or eject once.

I started off with my 230 Gr. ball reloads, using Rainier Bullets, 6.0 Grs. of SR-7625, Speer brass & Federal primers. Shot it's first 16 rounds from 50 Ft. across a shooting table with the sights held at a 6 o'clock hold.......

I also fed it some 230 Gr. JHP's, and a few rounds of 200 Gr. +P Federal expanding full metal jacket....(my home defense round of choice)..... and it handled them all without a hitch.

The rubber grips aren't the most attractive, but they sure do feel good in my hands, and al though it was a cool dry day with sweat not being a factor, I really didn't see front strap checkering to be a need. I might take advantage of the special offer that comes with every Kimber 1911 pistol, and order a set of checkered rosewood grips for $39.95......

Thanks for the kind words.....

Funny thing is, the Target Match was my early Christmas present from last year, and the Custom II is my early Christmas present for this year.....

Maybe if I'm a real good boy Santa will bring me a Raptor II for next year....

Just file the new IRS form RE (Really Easy), 45; it only contains two lines:

Line 1: How much did you make?
Line 2: Send it in.

That's why I get my Christmas present early, before the IRS gets it all.....
