Just won on auction three more mouse guns:

1) Regina

2) Unique

3) Kaba

The Regina is a Spanish piece, the Unique is also a Spanish made piece, not the French Unique. The Kaba I need to find out more about yet.

Congrats on the auction. Are any of the three still in production? Tell us what you learn about the Kaba.

Sounds like another splendid addition to your collection Bob. Have you dedicated a whole part of your house yet to your guns?

Awfully high priced scrap metal by the pound!

Teresa - yup, got a whole room (walk in vault) in my house for the guns, plus a work bench area, plus an accessories storage area - heck, the whole basement is my domain!

Where would you find out about local auctions? I'd love to find some new places to search for additions to my collection.

I read all the local papers looking for auctions, plus I always look around those bulletin boards in the fronts of restaurants and grocery stores for auction listings.

Bob, congratulations on the new "triplets",, three at a time is always better. I have a few of the spanish .25's and the research is almost as fun as the purchase.

None of these pistols are currently in production. Today at the gunshow I picked up an Astra Model 1916 25acp, one of the early versions without the grip safety, and a Victoria Model 1911 25acp - which is an early Astra before they started using the Astra name. Tomorrow the same fellow is supposed to be bringing back in some more Spanish 25acp pistols - including a Looking Glass and a Liliput.

Dang, and I thought I would pull ahead from this gunshow ---

Welcome Aboard jimmar!

Bob,

I've had that happen a couple of times at the shows, but
I do look for it though!

This guy has a collection of 160 some odd 25acp pistols, and he is selling off a portion of them for new computer equipment. Today I picked up:

1) an extremely rare Alkar Cartridge Counter - kind of a unique piece where you can see how many cartridges are in the magazine through a slot in the side of the grip;

2) Danton Double Safety - another fun design;

3) "The Veritable Mosser Superior";

4) Melior (actually Belgian made, but for some reason proofed through Eibar with a 1941 date code);

5) Melior Model 1920 (the tinyest little 25acp I have ever seen!)

You gonna post pictures Bob? I'd especially like to see #5!

Is it smaller than the Baby Browning?

I am still shucking money at guns and never have gotten a digital camera!

The Model 1920 Melior is smaller than the Baby Browning - especially in profile, it is very thin and sleek.

The Kaba Spezial was made by F. Arizmendi for export to Karl Bauer GmbH in Berlin, Germany. It has pre-1927 Spanish Eibar proofs, and the German crown over N proof.

The Unique slide legend says "Le Veritable Pistolet Francais Unique Manufacture Des Pyrenees Francaises Behobie" - now this one is throwing me a bit of a loop. I was expecting the pistol made by Unceta y Cia (Astra) as the model 1924 and marketed in France, but the last word in the above slide legend should be "Hendaye" instead of "Behobie".

The Regina is a typical 1920s vintage Spanish piece.
