The takedown screw will come out. Give it a little help with WD40 and a big screw driver
I have a couple of friendly gun shops here that will give me a long box just for the asking
Ship it USPS

Arrow Maye a popsickle stick?

Once you get that screw out, I'm pretty sure that the hammer must be cocked to disassemble. I always have rap mine pretty firmly with my hand to get it to come apart.

I find it best to never lable it as a firearm as UPS is noted for loosing guns. You can go online to USPS and the will ship you a box of priority mail cardboard boxes for free. You would need the longer triangle boxes.Wrap it up really good with newspapers and clear tape.Put it in the box and tape every edge of the box and your good to go.This is how I pack guns.Any loose parts I put in a zip lock bag and tape it to the barrel. It should run you under $10.00 through the US post office.Delivery confirmation is $.55 extra and insurance should run under $5.00.

I believe it is illegal to label it as a firearm on the outside of the box
