A friend of mine has a Walther P-38 that his father brought back from WW11 that he is wanting to sell. What would be a fair price to offer for it?The only thing I know about it is that it has plastic grips and is shootable.I see them listed at SOG for 199.99. Thanks in advance Benny

WW11? I thought we stopped at 2!

Make sure you don't confuse the P38 with the P38/P1, which is a post-war firearm made for police. It is a P38 slide on a P1 (1950's) alloy frame. $200 is the going price for these; I have one. But it is not C&R eligible, and does not command the same price as an original WWII P38.

A lot is going to hinge on condition, coding, matching/non-matching parts, etc. -

It can be worth anywhere from $200 to $500

You're lucky Benny. If it came here in '44, it wasn't one of the late war "junk production" models.

Depending on condition, matching parts, and markings, it could be worth from $400 to a couple of thousand.
