i like russioan best.. next romanian.. past that a chinese norince is a cheap shooter.. cheap for an sks anyway. I remember when you could get them for 99$.. now I see 450$ sometimes.

Norincos go bang when you shoot them and they seem to have good barrels. A local dealer was going out of business in the early 90's and I gave him $500 for his last 7 Norinco SKS's....they make nice gifts for kids, barn guns, shop guns, granary guns, truck guns, heh heh heh

yep.. for sure good price on 7. heck.. nowadays, that 500$ would buy you 1 and then you'd have some change left over..

I only have experience shooting the Chinese examples. A Viet Nam bring-back and several imports. Every one of them was a good shooter and they all worked well.
I regret not buying a Russian example back when they started showing up. It would have been a nice collector's item. The one I have always wanted to have was an East German SKS. They are rather uncommon for some reason. |

I like my two Russians. Faultless workhorses. Kept the Lami stock,
put a polymer on the other, with a Chinese internal 20 round mag. The grenade launcher on the Yugos is very worthwhile, because it acts as a counterbalance, to offset recoil, and get you back on target. Try shooting a volley at targets with a couple friends, sometime. |

i got a syn stock for one of mine.. but didn't like it. good looking stock.. but make the gun heavy, forward.
