Thank's guy's,
You know, I love my semi-autos, and carry one most of the time, but there is nothing like the look and feel of a revolver. I cherish the time spent shooting them and I never feel under gunned when I carry one. Both of my sons like to shoot them as well and wll three of us make a trip to the range from time to time to just burn some rounds, punch paper and knock over the metal targets and spend quality time together, shooting and heckling each other. I just don't understand people wanting to take away my rights to keep, bear and have a great time shooting my firearms......they just dont know what they are missing....would'nt you agree. tex

I like revolvers, the first handgun I ever shot was a S&W .357Mag Highway patrolman. However, I would feel "undergunned" while carrying one for a few reasons:
-They are thick -They have low shot capacity -I cannot fire them as fast as an autoloader For that reason I do not own one right now. Not saying that I wouldn't like to have one for target shooting because they are accurate, but I can't feel comfortable carrying one for the aforementioned reasons. |

I too prefer to carry an auto pistol for my primary carry gun, but revolvers
certainly have their advantages also and I do carry one from time to time and am perfectly comfortable doing so. I always recommend a revolver to anyone unfamiliar with handguns or any newcomers to shooting. a) no external safeties to worry about. b) very easy to visually identify if the gun is loaded. c) not picky about the types of ammo you feed them. to name a few advantages.

Tex, I have some of the same guns you show here. I have a Redhawk cut back to 4" much the same as yours, except that mine is in 45 Colt. I have a Super Redhawk Alaskan, except mine is in 454 Casull. The first thing I did when I got my Alaskan was replace the Hogue grips with standard Super Redhawk grips (rubber w/laminated wood panels). This made a vast improvement in the way it handles, at least for me, and makes it more comfortable to shoot. I have an S101 3" 357 like yours and like quite well as a ccw gun. I also have 5.5" Redhawks in 41 and 44 Mag. One of these days I will post some pictures too, when I get around to taking some, and learn how to post them.

1. The heavier barrel on a wheel gun gives you more “point ability” than an electric gun (works for me on close range instinctive shooting, but that’s just me). 2. I can empty a full cylinder and reload, or do a Barney Fife drill, fairly quickly. 3. If you have a bad primer all you have to do is pull the trigger again (but it looks like you have had training on an auto for just letting the trigger go forward until the sear engages instead of letting it go all the way forward). 4. Su Amigo. No offense meant, just my 2 cents worth. To each his own.
