Hello Dirtypacman Come on Down to Knoxville. I came across this Pre-27 and recently swapped for it. It shipped in 1954 and is all original. I now have a Father to lay next to my 5" Nickel Model 27-2 with it's 5" Barrel. I have Not seen Too Many 3-1/2" Barrel Nickel pre-27's so this one was a Must and it ends 10 Long Years of searing for a Nickel pre-27. Now all I need is a Nickel 4" Registered Magnum to make the trio, but I will have to get a Second Mortgage to afford one of them. L.O.L.... Hammerdown |

I have never been to that part of the country - Thanks for the kind offer - If I ever find I will be heading to your neck of the woods I will take you up on it.

Just came in today. .327 blued, 115gr magnum cartridge, manageable recoil, VERY LOUD, 1.5" group at 25 feet. This is my Wife holding it.
![]() ![]() Brass ejected smoothly with no hangups at all, and at 115gr proectile this is about as hot as it gets. The very smooth pull surprised me. I'm happy. ![]() Latigo

This thread makes me wish I had a digital cam, and the knowledge to use it.
You'll have to visualize my only revolver (currently). It's a Ruger Redhawk, .44 mag., stainless, with 7.5" barrell. Pachmayr grips. Stainless Bushnell scope that necessitates the removal of front ramp sight, and extends to the rear sight. Originally when I bought it there were stag grips but these really sucked to shoot with. Looked great though. There is still not a scratch or ding visible anywhere on it except for the rear scope screw, which someone marred while tightening it before I owned the gun. The man I bought it from complained about wounding and losing a deer at "85 yards" which got me a good deal. I spotted the marred screw and noted the looseness of the scope on the mount. Some careful tightening and...it works fine for ME! Last edited by Maximilian II; 05-27-2009 at 11:56 PM.. |

I also carry the judge if I'm going to be in the woods to take care of any snakes that get in the way. Hope that is helpful... |

Man, thats my using gun! It gets dirty, dusty and occasionally wet. But if you don't have it with you all the time you will never have it with you when you need it.
I do clean it often especially if its wet. Thought about getting another one for packing since the Anaconda is kinda pretty.(also just a little heavy) |

I've added a couple/three wheelies to my meager collection so I thought I would post pictures of them, too. Didn't want them to feel left out!

Hello Dirtypacman Here is a recent addition. This is a First year Registered Magnum that shipped to The Bowen Brothers Hardware Company of Augusta, Georgia on December 3 1935 with a Box of .357 Magnum ammo sighted in at 20 Yards. It was then sold to an FBI Agent and now is wearing an original set of Walter Roper Custom grips from the 1930's Time period I had on hand Just awaiting the right gun...I surmise due to the Lack of a Flame cutting line, the shape of the bluing, and Lacking any Factory return stamp dates, or Five sided Re-Work Star's like most Registered's seem to have, that this one laid in a Night stand Drawer quietly hid from the Light of Day for many, many years. it will get fired and enjoyed now..
