Thumbs down This Is NOT Snow

We got hammered starting yesterday afternoon. Power was out for approximately 11 hours last night starting at about 9:15 PM. The interior of the house was 70 degrees at the time it went out and 11 hours later it was 59 degrees and you could definitely tell the difference. Lisa and Sam thought we were camped at the North Pole ...

While the photos show white I can guarantee you that none of what we got was snow. All ICE ...

And we're expecting more yet ...GI4

Last Night ...

Six Out!

Unfortunately, there is NOTHING worse than ICE.....

Hope it melts FAST, Six.

That looks bad, Six! Stay off the roads!! Here in Colorado, we ended up so far with about 5-6 inches of snow, but relatively little ice. Look on the bright side, Six, you could be in VN where it's 90 degrees and 90% humidity instead!

I'd rather have the snow.

Hey SixTGunr, we got ice too, but not nearly like what you got. The power has been flickering off and on most of the night. I’m in Fenton about 20 miles outside of St. Louis. The news has been jumping back and forth between the ice storm and the two boys that were kidnapped and found Friday.

Berto, you just had to remind me of that, right? As I recall somewhere between a backed-up sewer and a Texas stock yard after a rain.

Most of yesterday was gloomy and rain was predicted---if it did arrive, it was in some other area of the Valley of the Sun....late yesterday afternoon the sun did come out and then the 'weather guessers' said it was going to be the coldest night of the year...During the night I kept hearing the heat-pump cycle on and off so at 2AM I ventured out doors to check---yeah, it was cold so I turned the pool filter on just in case the freeze is low enough. Last evening the weather was in readings in readings I don't ever recall seeing.....ambient temp was 68, relative humidity was 4%, and the dew point only 2 degrees----yup, the air is dirty, and the skin does itch. Folks who have breathing problems do not venture out doors and they best keep a pan of boiling water on the stove for creature comfort....the big college game that was played here in Glendale last week---Florida and Ohio I think it was---those folks claim they sure like this Arizona weather...Berto, you gotta remember the wide ranges---even more pronounced variations up north in Prescott and Flagstaff.....Stay healthy all of you hell-raisers---button up and wear your hob-nail boots for traction----please don't forget during those spiritual times, to say some prayers for the troops and their families---it's gotta be tough turkey for all involved...Chief
