Default Pistolenschutze (Mud Bugs!)

Are you getting your boots on?

This stuff is getting purt' near done, we may have to have a taste test tonight.

As far as the crawfish boil tomorrow goes, the list of participants keeps getting longer...The good part is that most of the additional guests dont like mud bugs...Too bad for them! On top of that they are bringing more food... I sense a nap in my future.

Heres a teaser...

My RauchHaus bohnen (supposed to be bohnens?)
And some Fiery ABTs

Sheesh, Donny, that looks and sounds so good, it would darn near be worth the drive from Colorado to Texas just to pig out! Now, I trust you have sufficient "hops flavored beverages" iced down to put out the fires! Oh, and as the party gets going, Donny, be sure to sing that famous Irish Rovers song . . .

WASN'T THAT A PARTY

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Someone took a grapefruit
Wore it like a hat
I saw someone under my kitchen table
Talking to my old tom cat
They were talking about hockey
The cat was talking back
Long about then every-thing went black
Wasn't that a party

I'm sure it's just my memory
Playing tricks on me
But I think I saw my buddy
Cutting down my neighbour's tree

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

Billy, Joe and Tommy
Well they went a little far
They were sittin' in my back yard, blowing on a sireen
From somebody's police car

So you see, Your Honour
It was all in fun
The little bitty track meet down on main street
Was just to see if the cops could run
Well they run us in to see you
In an alcoholic haze
I sure can use those thirty days
To re-cover from the party

Could've been the whiskey
Might've been the gin
Could've been the three or four six-packs,
I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in
My head is like a football
I think I'm going to die
Tell me, me oh, me oh my
Wasn't that a party

The second image looks like jalepenos wrapped with bacon, but are they filled with a little cheese? Dat'd be good Pepper Jack, maybe? And beans are always good to blow the sheets up at night; scares the ghosts away.

Lead, they are actually filled with my current favorite which is minced crab meat...There are four in the batch that that I experimented with that were sardines in louisiana hot sauce...I liked those "okay", but not like the crab and they didn't amp the heat up as much as I had hoped.

I'll post up some pictures of Saturdays crab boil...The guys had such a good time that we've decided that a couple boils per season aint gonna cut it.

We started with 100 LBS of bugs and found very few that had to be discarded...Much to my delight.

This cooler contains 33 LBS or so.

Ya know, they may find my crawfish eating habits a little less than refined...I'm learning that sitting at the table with a plate only gets in the way. The way those two big boys are eating is the only way to fly...Dump a huge amount in a pickup bed and put a trash can between you for the shells.

Around here we put out a plastic tablecloth on a picnic table and spread em out. Put several plastic bins down each side, and a 5-gallon bucket at each end of the table.

Donny, I liked all the pictures you but are in big trouble here in North Idaho. I showed the better half the picture of your daughter and her expression and my wife almost wet her pants laughing so hard. Man warn us next time. Glad you had a good time. There are some things here in Idaho that we don't get as much of as I would like, like weather for good crawdad fixin. catfish

Guess I'm hard core stupid, but removing the seeds from jalapenos is like unloading my guns - never would dream of such a thing!

Thanks for all the responses guys.

LL...You know me better'n that dontcha? Remember I like it MAD HOT.

You have to remove the meat from the inside of the pepper in order to have room for the stuffing, but I always return the seeds back to the dish that contains the stuffing...Best of both worlds.

Bear, I have to agree with Rich, you need to get up here and help us throw a campout together or something.

To eat a crawdad you pinch off the tail peel the shell off and eat the meat and once you get done with the tail you suck the juices out of it's head
