Arrow Adjusting trigger pull on S&W .40

I recently purchased a S&W .40 (the newer VE model). The DA pull is so long, I almost go to sleep when trying to shoot. Is there anyway I can adjust the trigger pull myself? Or is this a gunsmith only fix?

BTW - before the boos start, my city carry is a Springfield XD .45 ACP., which has a 5 LB pull. My country carry is a Taurus Model 608 in .357. It has a 4.5 LB pull in SA and just over 8 in DA. I bought the .40 to play with at the range.
