I tried to reply to "njretcop" and it would not go. The little arrow just kept spinning. Never did go through. Guess it wasn't important enough.

Then select Ok and you should be done. It should speed you computer up a bit

Click the Tools button that is at the top in the tool bar/ Internet options/delete files/check the box that says delete all offline content click ok.

To get rid of the cookies same process. If you want to keep those cookies to sites that you log onto do it manually by selcting settings/view files and leave only those places that you normally use/visit. Otherwise you will have to log in again next time you vistit them.

Hey Berto, y'all got any of them there new fangled repeatin' cartridge rifles up your way? I hear a feller can load 'em up on Sunday and shoot all week! I hear Catfish even bought hisself one.

All kidding aside, check into the high speed internet service, Berto. One you have it, you won't want to go back to the slower connect speed.

Congrats on the posts!

Berto I was checking to see if you can even get dsl there. So to make it easy, just click this link and enter your phone number and it should be able to tell you if you can or not.

https://aba2.sisna.com:9079/subscrib...kQual?type=dsl

Sisna is based out of Salt Lake City. I haven't had any problems with em.

I use cable for my internet access and love how fast it is. However, I was having problems getting online at times yet the cable tv was working fine. The cable guy was here yesterday and he replaced the line coming to my house as well as replacing the modem and its is working better and maybe faster than ever. I even got a new remote control from him to boot. Life is good . I would however change my service to Verizon if FIOS was available in my area.

Berto there are companies that offer an accelerated dial up package, like Net Zero, but DON'T use them.

What it does mainly is compress jpegs so everything loads faster. The link above offers a speeded up dial up service, but whomever you are using at the moment might offer the same thing.

Get on your phone company to offer you dsl, that's about all they can do.

Actually Marlin, they don't compress jpegs, as jpegs are already compressed pretty well.

They compress TEXT. Which means you get great service, as long as you're mostly browsing text. They stink for most browsing, though.

Berto, I've got a good suggestion for you under the circumstances.

I live in rural Collier County (Naples) Florida where the Florida Panther lives (as an aside, I hear them whistling to each other outside EVERY NIGHT. It's true, they make a whistling sound when they are trying to locate each other. Oh, and endangered? My ass!).

When we moved here three years ago from the mean streets of Fort Lauderdale, there was NO CABLE and NO INTERNET. We found that the best we could do was satellite internet by a company called DirectWay. It's much faster than dial up, but not as fast as DSL. The downsides? It's as expensive as DSL and like all other satellite systems, is prone to get spotty during bad weather. However, I'll take it any day over dial up!!!

Another suggestion, Have 6-8 swigs of fresh Jim Beam Black Kentucky Bourbon before logging on to your computer. If you do, your internet connection will seem faster.
